One of the best ways to control where your QR code points to is to set your QR code to point to a blank page that redirects to the page you actually want it to go to. The point of doing this is so that you can keep your QR code live and still have the flexibility to change where the QR code points to in the future.
In order to create a successful QR code redirect, follow the steps below:
1. Create a blank web page. For this example we created the webpage http:www.razsattic.com/redirect.html
2. Inside your new page, add the following code before the </header>
3. Within the code, change the “window.location” to where you would like the QR code to redirect to.
4. Create your QR code to point to your new page.
When you test the QR code, it will redirect to the page you identified within the code. If you scan the sample QR code above, you will be redirected to nintendo.com. Give it a try!
If you would like to redirect your QR code based on the mobile device you scan with, check out my other qr code article: http://razsattic.com/2013/redirect-qr-code-based-on-mobile-device
